  I had to come up with a restaurant for my wife's birthday and once again she came up with a recommendation for me. This is a sure way not to make a mistake, it also helped us stay married for 22 yrs. We both love BBQ so my search was on. I gave her a list and when she heard the name House of Bones she said that's the one I saw on Rt 34 in Derby. We need to try that one. Off we went, when we pulled into the parking lot I started to think this could be good. Not likely the response most people would have based on exterior. However, we like finding a diamond in the rough. The House of bones turned out to be just that. The people were very friendly, there was quite a selection , and most importantly the food was fabulous. The flavors of the meats didn't need any help but don't turn down the opportunities to try all the wonderful sauces to enhance the experience. Finally the portions are plentiful, plan on big doggie bags. We can't wait to return.

  Ordered the hot lobster roll and their buffalo wings. Lobster roll was great and the wings were huge.

  We ordered for lunch, reasonable pricing for the amount offered. The corn bread was good, and I don't typically like corn bread. The fried chicken was cooked well and crispy, the mashed potatoes were a little bland, and the mac and cheese tasted very generic. It's not the worst but it wasn't amazing either but it's worth ordering again.
